Summary of the role

Responsible for processing shipments in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring operational excellence, high efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Sorting, packing, loading, and unloading freight and managing shortages/damages with a CDR report prepared.

Duties and responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks.
• Pull and stage outbound goods using loading manifest.
• Check in/load out domestic and international freight.
• Put freight away in designated areas.
• Drive sit-down forklift (electrical or propane) in a safe and efficient manner.
• Re-weigh freight / cargo as directed; basic math skills required.
• Maintain a clean work environment and follow safety policies.
• Able to use a computer and the main software packages competently.
• All other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as the business demands deem necessary.
• Execute all Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (as applicable).
• Contribute actively to a healthy and secure work environment by reporting unsafe/unsecure/unhealthy conditions and possible improvements.

Qualifications and requirements

• Literacy & numeracy.
• Previous warehouse experience is required.
• Knowledge of air freight regulations is desirable.
• Reach / counterbalance truck essential.
• Must be detail oriented and able to work in fast pace, high volume environment.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Actively participates in safety policies, activities and implementations.

• Manual handling skills.

Physical demands

• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.

IT skills

• Basic PC skills (Windows, Microsoft Office applications) preferred.

Language skills

• Fluent oral and written English is a must.
• Additional (major) European languages would be an asset.

Work hours and environment

• Employees may be required to work hours other than the set shift hours to facilitate the completion of required work or resolve critical issues.
• Must be available for overtime, covering holiday and sickness.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but the employee should be capable of working in an open workspace, closely with team members.
